Carey's soccer team is in the playoffs right now.

So I finally got a chance to head to one of his games.


He even scored a goal off a header within the first 5 minutes.

I'll be heading to his next game later in the week.

I'm sure they'll be a bunch of pictures from that game as well.



I'm in love with Bon Iver's version of this song.

It's his first show with a full-band in a while.

I owe alot of my progress in photography to these two.


It was the summer of 2007.

I was a 19 year old with one year of college under my belt.

I get an email from Braden asking if I would photograph their wedding.

I was terrified.

I had never done anything like it before.

He assured me I was capable of the job.

So I did it.

And I loved it.

I've since done far too many weddings for me to even begin counting.


I owe a large portion of my success to their trust in me and my abilities, whether or not I knew felt I was ready for the job.


And I took it as a pretty big compliment that 2 and half years later, they have me back to take pictures of them again.



Here's a few of the pictures from their wedding that I took in August of 2007.

It was pretty fun to look back at some old pictures of mine.

Donatallo kinda got screwed over didn't he?

He's purple....the girliiest of all the colors.

And then there's his weapon. His fighting utensil. He's got a stick.



He definitely got last pick in the draft for both choice of color and weapon.


It was always Leonardo for me.

Blue color. Nice.

Swords. Maybe not the most unique, but it's longer then the knives (sais), and could do more damage then a set of nunchucks.

You ever have to check to see if the label is in the front of your t-shirt.

That's about the most humbling thing that can happen to a person.

Then you realize the label is on the front of your shirt, but you're in a group of people.

So you casually make your way to the bathroom for a quick costume change your hoping no one will catch.

But for some reason, there's one person that notices that your neckline is revealing just the slightest bit more then it was before.

Foiled.

First of many photo shoots this weekend started off at 9 AM.

For the shots on the tandem bike I longboarded beside them to give it that motion-blur look.

Took alot of attempts to get some to actually turn out, but I like the look it gave them.

I'm liking shooting wide at Volleyball games way more then using a telephoto lens.

As great as getting zoomed in is, I like being able to see more of the action.

Here's a shot I got from the Loney, Dear concert the other night.

Not the greatest of lighting in venues.


Nonetheless, a spectacular show.

Loney, Dear is up there as one of my favorite bands, and holds a spot on my list of top 5 favorite albums.

Seeing them live just further solidifies that position.

I shot this video of Jake and Matt playing in the back of Cobey's car.

Jadiid's full-length album is being released very shortly.

Can't wait for that.



I'll say what I said to them while we were filming....


I'm gonna ruin movies for you. You'll rarely see a headrest in a car in a movie or TV show. They always remove the headrest so you can see the characters in the backseat.

Bam.

Movies are now ruined.

The Bon Iver show last night was phenomenal.


It was a "No-Camera" affair within the venue, however.

So I instead leave you with a few videos someone else at the show recorded that I found on YouTube.

I'm not sure who filmed these, but I'm thankful they did.


According to Justin, this is the last show they'll be playing for an undetermined amount of time.


What better way to go out then to play at a sold out hometown crowd of 2,500 enthusiastic fans.

An incredible experience.

Heading to a Loney, Dear concert later tonight.

Then a Bon Iver concert tomorrow Night in Milwaukee.

Those two are the the bands I've listened to the most out of all my music in the last year.

And now I'm seeing them back to back in one weekend.

Yesterday I filmed some B-Roll for Darren Wilson's new Film "Furious Love"

It could potentially make it into the final cut of the movie.

Which could be pretty cool.



This was one of the pictures that went into Photo's 1 critique 2 weeks ago.

I didn't get a chance to digitize it last week, so I couldn't post it on here until now.

I like the way these black and white pictures are turning out.



I finally got my grade for the 3 prints I turned in: 70%

I found that kinda humorous.

If I were a teacher, I think the highlight of my day would be in passing out articles and quizzes, or other pieces of paper.

Then I'd get to see if I estimated enough sheets to hand out to the class.

If there weren't any extras lingering around in the back row, then I'd have small little celebrations to myself behind my desk.

This was a tough shot.

Handheld at about an 1/8th of a second exposure.

Then it was another one from the roll that got caught on the reel.

So this one got all messed up.

But I like it for that.

There's alot of entertaining programming going on right now.

I look forward to Sundays for Curb Your Enthusiasm and Bored To Death.

Highly recommend looking into both.


And I'm really looking forward to the films Up In The Air and Fantastic Mr. Fox.

It's weird watching College football and knowing that the people playing are younger then me.

I find myself looking at people's ages when they started accomplishing things in their lifetime.

Winning awards...discovering things...inventing things.

It's a strange phenomenon.
