Eventful day.
It started out the night by inviting everyone over to my house to cook dinner.
We ended up having about 17 of us college kids preparing a meal for eachother...setting the table...saying grace...and enjoying eachother's company.
It was great.
Then the night took an unexpected turn.
While the night was coming to a close, I started to feel a pain in my stomach.
I shrugged it off as a mild stomach ache from not being used to eating "real" food...funny how that works...your body adjusts to not eating the normal food when you're on a college campus.
But the pain prolonged....
Throughout the entire night.
Everyone else went home and I stayed home to see if I could sleep off the stomach ache and join everyone tomorrow again.
But the pain would not go away.
So at 4 in the morning...I nervously awoke my brother Carey telling him I might need to be going to the hospital.
He nodded his head then put it back on his pillow.
Then I told him I wasn't kidding and that I was in serious pain.
So he called me an ambulance...and we went to the hospital.
This happened to be the only weekend that my parents were out of state teaching a seminar in Arkansas.
So then I get to the hospital...and hours later...still in pain....and after a series of tests....they finally realize that it's not just a stomach ache....and that I"m actually currently in the process of enduring appendicitis.
So they ordered surgery.
And now I'm in an emergency room with my 17 year old brother...at 7 in the morning on a saturday.
And I was there for the next 4 days.
Rough day.
But I had about 48 different people come by to support me and visit me while I was in there.
And I appreciate all of you who came by.
More tomorrow.
